Canadian musicians The Weakerthans are one of the few bands (actually, the only one we have found so far) that can tug so effectively at your heartstrings while singing from the perspective of a cat.
However, this is only one of many reasons we are incredibly excited to see them this weekend at the World Cafe Live. Their last release was 2007's Reunion Tour (Amazon, iTunes) but their songs don't age like, well, they don't really age at all.
Instead, they charm their way into your brain and rewrite how you think about the world for a little while. They make you want to sit with a friend and have a beer. They make you respect your cat a bit more.
This show isn't sold out yet, and the World Cafe is a great place to see an act like The Weakerthans, so we suggest you either click the link below or make your way over to the venue's box office (which will save you some dinero on processing charges, etc.). It's a great way to spend a Sunday evening.
And don't worry, the cat will still be there when you get home.
