- Canadian country-rock singer-songwriter Serena Ryder (MySpace) has been dominating our iTunes playlist lately with her album Is It OK. The album doesn't officially come out until November, but you can pick it up if you go catch her tonight at The Note (142 E. Market St., West Chester), where she'll be playing with NeedToBreathe (MySpace). Green River Ordinance (MySpace) will open the show. 7 p.m., 21+, $15.
- You can support a good cause and check out music and art at World Cafe Live (3025 Walnut St.) tonight, when WCL hosts Fresh Artists for an art show and fundraiser from 6 to 8. $10 gets you in, and there will be music plus free beer/wine. Proceeds will help purchase art supplies for city public schools.
- If you didn't catch Dawn Iulg at the Philadelphia Folk Festival as we recommended, you'll get another chance tonight when she performs at Milkboy Coffee (2 E. Lancaster Ave.) Also performing are Jonah Smith (MySpace), David Stein (MySpace), and Justin Trawick (MySpace). 8 p.m., all ages, $12.
