Phillyist's quick-picks for your evening agenda.

  • Hallelujah, college football season is here! And it kicks off with a good local interest matchup, as Temple and Villanova face off in the inaugural Mayor's Cup game at Lincoln Financial Field (1 Lincoln Financial Way). Sure, these aren't two national football powerhouses, but local rivalry always kicks things up a notch anyway. 7 p.m., $15-$45.
  • The Comic Energy Sketch Comedy Troupe opens its tenth season tonight at Rembrandt's (741 N. 23rd St.). Comic Energy will be at Rembrandt's every first Thursday of the month through May. 9 p.m., 21+, $10 in advance/$12 at the door.
  • Indie-rock fans should head to Johnny Brenda's (1201 Frankford Ave.) tonight to check out Throw Me the Statue (MySpace), with The Brunettes and Nurses opening. 9 p.m., 21+, $10.
  • Get your ABBA fix—no, seriously—tonight at the Mann (5201 Parkside Ave.) with ABBA: The Music. 8 p.m., $29-$49.
