- Another tribute band lineup at the North Star (2639 Poplar St.) tonight, featuring Jane's Addiction tribute band Ritual, rockin' all-female Metallica tribute act Misstallica, and Tool tribute band Undertow. The rock starts at 9, it's 21+, and tickets are $10.
- Gardner Dozois, editor of The Year's Best Science Fiction series, will discuss and read from this year's anthology at the Moonstone Arts Center (110A S. 13th St.) tonight. The reading starts at 7:30, and it's free.
- Local indie rock is the theme at Tritone (1508 South St.) tonight. Playing tonight will be Oh! Pears, The Sparta Philharmonic, Onward Revival, and Touch & Taste. The show starts at 9:30, and it's 21+. No price listed, but cover for Tritone is generally $5.
- Want to jazz up your evening? Head to Ortlieb's Jazzhaus (847 N. 3rd St.) for Ralph Bowen Quartet (MySpace). It's 21+ and starts at 8. Cover is $10.
- Brother Shamus (MySpace) will bring their acoustic rock to Manayunk's Dawson Street Pub (100 Dawson St.) tonight. Opening up will be What Does It Eat. This is a late show, starting at 10, and cover is $5. 21+ (like you'd bring the kids to a 10 p.m. show at DSP).
