- AM (MySpace) puts on one of the most interesting acoustic—sort of—shows out there today. And he'll be at World Café Live (3025 Walnut St.) tonight opening for The Rescues (MySpace). Tickets are $18-$23, and the show starts at 8.
- Retro-ska troubadors Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad will be hoppin' at The Note (142 E. Market St., West Chester). They'll be the middle act of a three-band set, with Rebelution headlining and Iration opening. It's an 18+ show with a 9 start time, and tickets are $17.
- If you're looking for an interesting night of prog-rock, head to the North Star (2639 Poplar St.), where Eddie Jobson—who has worked with the likes of Roxy Music, Frank Zappa, and Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson—will be doing an evening entitled "The Art of Prog IX." It's a 21+ show, and online sales have ended, so call the North Star at (215) 787-0488 about ticket availability. Admission is $35.
- Phillyist will be at The Barbary (951 Frankford Ave.) to check out one of our favorites (and recent interviewee) The Color Fred (MySpace), who will be playing with The Scene Aesthetic, The Ready Set, and Stephen Jerzak. This is an all ages show starting at 6, and admission is $12.
- Collingswood's Movies in the Park series at Knight Park features Hotel for Dogs. It might not be high art, but it is good family fun. It's free, and the movie starts at dusk.
