- How ugly might Philadelphia's budget look if Harrisburg doesn't approve some amendments to the city's budget? Really [pardon our French] fucking ugly. We should find out just how bad the damage could be when Mayor Nutter holds a
panic sessionpress conference this afternoon. - We have no idea how we missed this deja vu all over again story... The guy who claimed he was shot by NFL star and Philadelphia native Marvin Harrison last year was shot last week outside Harrison's North Philly bar. Word came last night that police served a search warrant on the bar over the weekend.
- Another suspect has been arrested for the Rian Thal/Timothy Gilmore murders. That makes six people arrested, and there may be as many as six more still being sought. A federal deputy marshall was hit by a car and injured chasing the suspect; the marshall is in intensive care.
- New Jersey regulators approved a plan by PSE&G that would make the state the second-most solar powered state behind only California.
- An underweight juvenile whale beached itself and died in Ocean City yesterday.
- Philadelphia reserves its collective right to reverse its opinion on this, but the early feedback seems to be that the Phillies' deal for Cliff Lee is a good one—at least on paper.
- Of course, you'd think that after the Phillies held onto J.A. Happ they'd want to give him some run support when he has a solid outing. Alas, the Phillies' bats went ice cold last night as the Phightin's went down to the
D-bagsD-backs 4-0 despite a respectable outing from Happ.
