Philly.com clearly doesn't pay enough attention to Phillyist. Didn't they learn last week? And so today, you get a two-fer.
First of all, this is what happens when you decide not to ask a staff writer to cover a local story, and instead go with a news service. As sender-inner Hanna writes: "People keep complaining that he was given a slap on the wrist. Philly.com is just trying to keep the city happy... "
Philly.com has corrected the headline, but because it's a local story, they should have known better than to run it in the first place. (Also, shame on the AP—the uncorrected headline is still at large on the internets.)
Next up is the little gem to your right, submitted by reader Renee. It was corrected quickly enough, but the error still exists in the article's permalink. Seeing as "Phillies" is only a few letters off from "Philly"—the name of the website before the "dot-com" part—this really should have been an easy one.
Proofreading Philly tries to capture typos, wordos, and all other kinds of grammatical mistakes that we see around the city. But we need your help! Email photos to us from your computer or your phone, and show the city that you care about good grammar.
