2009filmfestimage.jpg Films: Sexy Intentions (shorts program)
Future screenings: None

I love going to see shorts at film festivals, because there's a good chance that you won't get to see them any other time. And that's a shame, because some of them are pretty good. The two standouts in tonight's lineup were "Trophy," in which a teenager seduces her sultry stepmother-to-be, and "At Home (or Love as Well)," a Spanish film whose protagonist hires a call girl to school her in the finer points of lesbian sex before she meets up with her new crush.

The series also featured two fun comedies. "Tools 4 Fools" is a send up of the infomercial, with a sexy (or perhaps horrifying) twist: the products for sale are all used sex toys. "Worst Case Scenario: Femme Edition" crams a lot of dating advice into five minutes with a campy black and white look at the butch-femme dynamic.

Other shorts in this program:

  • "When the Time's Right" – A time-travel inducing alarm clock!
  • "The Thorny Rose" – A lesbian dominatrix!
  • "What I Found in Great Aunt Nell's Closet" – Dirty animation!
  • "Buttery Top" – Um, a loaf of bread? Really?

Though you may have missed out on both screenings of these shorts, there's another shorts program for the ladies tonight. Check out Tough Love at 7:00 at Ritz East 2 for more Sapphic action, including girl gangs and salsa dancing.
