Asshole of the Week

This week we salute the rampant stupidity of 18 year old Donta Cradock and 20 year old Ivan Rodriguez, two young men who obviously got their guidebooks on how to be an asshole at an early age. No strangers to law enforcement, Cradock and Rodriguez's combined 13 prior arrests stretch back to the tender age of 12. Wednesday night this lousy duo decided it would be a grand plan to steal a motorcyle at gunpoint. That fantastically idiodic idea ultimately cost 4 people in Feltonville their lives.

While Cradoc plowed through the streets at breakneck speed in a Pontiac sedan Rodriguez fled from police on the motorcycle. According to Commissioner Ramsey the lack of skid marks from the Pontiac at the scene of the accident means Cradock didn't even try slow down. Wait, let's repeat that: DID NOT SLOW DOWN to avoid hitting a young mother with her 11 month old daughter, 6 year old neice, and 7 year old neighbor. It's exactly this utter lack of consideration for human life that brands someone "asshole for life."

To add tragedy to tragedy Cradock was supposed to be in kiddie jail in Pittburgh. His own mother had contacted authorities to alert them that her son had failed to return to the juvenile facility as scheduled after a home visit. Rodriguez too was on the run. He was wanted for failing to appear to a preliminary hearing for charges concerning a stolen vehicle. No one bothered to track down the teen felons and haul their sorry asses back to prison. So, Cradock and Rodriguez's parole officers, guess what? We might not know who you are, but you're honorary assholes, too.

This time around Rodriguez and Cradock are being charged with murder, armed robbery, carjacking, and various other things. Hopefully, now that they are full-grown legal adults they won't be seeing the outside of a jail cell anytime soon.
