"Steak du Cheese"?

We actually love the GPTMC's new ad campaign (isn't that kind of the point?) but we've got to agree with WHYY here: in context, "Steak du Cheese" makes not much sense.

Au contraire! In the comments section of WHYY’s It’s Our City blog post about the new “With Love, Philadelphia XOXO” commercial, we noted that the original script was “steak de cheese” – a playful nod to how people often say Philadelphia has a “European” feel.

But we had to agree that “steak de cheese” lent itself better to print than to TV, so look out and listen up when you see the commercial on TV… you’ll hear that old, familiar, beloved “cheesesteak” in its place.
