
- Barry Mescolotto is the acting chief assessor of the Board of Revision of Taxes. He doesn't pay taxes for a business run out of his home.
- Governor Corzine outlined a $2 billion mass-transit plan that will connect much of South Jersey with Philadelphia. The plan will include service from Glassboro, Pitman, Mantua, Wenonah, Woodbury, Deptford, West Deptford, Westville, Bellmawr, Brooklawn and Gloucester City.
- Police in South Jersey are on the lookout for a man who used a pickup truck in an attempt to break into a donation box at the Padre Pio shrine in Buena, Atlantic County. The botched attempt was caught on a surveillance video.
- Officials from the Philadelphia School District presented City Council with their $3.2 billion budget for the 2009-10 fiscal year. Until the state legislature acts upon Pennsylvania's budget plan the district will not know whether its presented plan is fully funded.
- Jayson Werth stole four bases, including a swipe of home plate, to lead the Phillies to a 5-3 win over the Dodgers at Citizens Bank Park last night. Another strong outing by Chan Ho Park also assisted in the Phillies' win.
