PAWS Cat of the Week

It's that time of year again: kitten season. That means that young kittens need foster care until they're big enough to be neutered/spayed and adopted, and older cats in Philadelphia's shelters are at even higher risk for euthanasia because of lack of space due to the deluge of kittens. PAWS gives these animals a chance at life by getting them out of the shelter and into caring homes. If you've thought about becoming involved as a volunteer or foster parent, now is the time. Ranvangas (ID# A07581819)

Ranvangas is a mellow adult cat who was surrendered by his owners to a high-kill shelter on May 4. Fortunately, PAWS came to his rescue and he's residing happily—but temporarily, we hope—at the adoption center in Old City. Ranvangas is 4 to 6 years old and very calm. He's lived with older children (9 to 15 years old) and a dog, and been just fine. Ranvangas is healthy and up to date on his shots, and now just needs a new forever home.

Also, make note of Ranvangas's ID number above, and bring it with you when you go to the adoption center. Adoption hours are Mon.-Sat., 11 a.m.-7 p.m., and Sun., 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
