What's not to love about the Miniature Tigers? The hipsterriffic foursome rocks throwback facial hair and bad Christmas sweaters almost as hard as they rock killer harmonies and painfully clever lyrics. (Seriously, we defy you not to love the intent or the rhyme scheme in lines like: "This is not a test or an SOS / I'm no longer on a quest to get girls undressed.") Plus, we support any band that embraces its inner nerd enough to feature a Dharma Initiative sticker on any instrument.
We caught the band opening for Ben Folds earlier this year and thought they outshone their headliner, even with the Electric Factory's notoriously unkind acoustics, so we're pumped to see them tonight at North Star Bar, one of our favorite small venues in the city. It's an early show tonight, too, so catching some musical awesome on a work/school night doesn't have to mean suffering through your day tomorrow—although it's worth noting that North Star has a great beer selection, so if you're not afraid of a hangover to go along with your morning, by all means, get drunk and get dancin' tonight.
