
- The Philadelphia Phillies lost their voice yesterday, but that didn't stop them from taking down the Washington Nationals to pay tribute to the great Harry Kalas. Prior to the game, Shane Victorino and a few others fired up a heater and pulled a couple drags from it for Harry.
- The original investors in the Inquirer, Daily News and philly.com have offered up $50 million to its creditors to crawl out of bankruptcy. The offer was disclosed yesterday through a filing with U.S. Bankruptcy Court here in Philadelphia.
- Governor Corzine unveiled a monstrous $3.6 billion transportation capital plan yesterday. Included within the plan is a $13.9 million fix for Admiral Wilson Boulevard. "NJ DOT and NJ Transit have proposed projects that will increase access to jobs, encourage economic development, increase roadway safety, and reduce congestion," the governor said.
- Philadelphia's Public Defender petitioned the Court to dismiss charges against another 26 people convicted on various drug charges. The 26 were allegedly arrested based upon bunk warrants and false information provided by Jeffrey Cujdik and his confidential informant.
- A man was stabbed to death in Norristown on Saturday for refusing to pay $5 to an acquaintance for taking him on a beer run. Christopher Ozuna, 30, was killed by Mardis Hinton, 50, the woman's ex-boyfriend whom she called to help get the $5 for the ride.
