Harry K to the Hospital

As the Phils are preparing to take on the Nats at Washington's home opener this afternoon, it's been reported that Harry Kalas, the voice of the Phils, was found passed out in the press box. He's been taken to the GW Hospital. Not much more details have been announced, but we'll keep you updated as we hear them.

From all of us here at Phillyist, we hope you're doing okay Harry.

Update: Philly.com has now reported that Harry Kalas has died at the age of 73 in DC this afternoon.

What an incredible loss for the Phils and the fans today. Not that it matters, but the Phillies will continue with today's game afternoon game against the Nats, but their trip to the White House tomorrow will be suspended.

We're still kind of in disbelief about this.

It is indeed a sad day that the voice of the Phillies is, as he might say, "outta here." R.I.P. Harry.

At least he's resting in true peace. We'll miss you Harry.

It's a little dusty in my office today, had to wipe away a few. I can't imagine a game without Harry. This is incredibly sad, but at least he died doing what he loved.

R.I.P. Harry The K! You were the best and this city will never ever forget you! I for one will take solace in the fact that you'll be once again watching the Phillies games with Whitey -- but this time from the greatest of all skyboxes!!
