Food junkies, unite! In American Food Writing: An Anthology With Classic Recipes, food columnist Molly O’Neill has compiled the crème-de-la-creme from famous foodies everywhere. From Fast Food Nation author Eric Schlosser to the one and only Julia Child, from globe-trotting Anthony Bourdain to my personal Jesus, Michael Pollan - hail, hail, the gang’s all here! There are also some writers you wouldn’t associate with food writing, but are sure thrilled to have in the mix: David Sedaris, Walt Whitman, and Langston Hughes, among others. If your favorite writer has written about food, chances are it’s included in O’Neill’s extensive yet compact collection, which also features recipes in case all the food writing inspires you to get your cook on.
Molly O’Neill will be appearing this Saturday, April 18, at the Philadelphia Free Library Book Festival at 1 p.m. in the Skyline Salon. Visit http://libwww.freelibrary.org/bookfestival/ for more information.
