The Festival Is Here!

We hope you're ready because Philly CineFest/Philadelphia Film Festival 2009 opens tomorrow night! If you haven't put your schedule together and ordered your tickets yet, hit that link and get a move on. Screenings are already selling out. Also keep in mind, if you're a bit strapped for cash, you can see movies for free by volunteering. The request for volunteers in the Philadelphia Film Alliance e-newsletter has gone from being a note in plain text at the bottom of the email to a paragraph in full color at the top, so we think they need you pretty badly! This year Phillyist will not only be reviewing movies after they screen in our usual film festival diary format, we'll also be reviewing some of them before they screen, to give you a sneak preview of what you can expect. So keep checking in with us, and have a happy festival!
