The weather report for the weekend looks pretty dreary, so why not spend part of your weekend going green inside? The Go Green Expo is coming to the Philadelphia Convention Center this weekend, and for a mere $10 you can get a weekend pass. Here’s a preview of what you can expect.
The Go Green Expo is a one-stop shop for eco everything. They will have hundreds of exhibitors showcasing their earth friendly products and services, along with a variety of speakers on green topics. There’s even a Kid’s Zone, which features eco-writing workshops for kids as well as a musical performance from Eco-Man.
Workshops and talks for the adults include, “Greening your Lifestyle,” “Education: Preparing for the Jobs of the Future,” and “Greeing your Home,” among others, and are offered throughout the day on both Saturday and Sunday. Even the event itself is environmentally friendly, having a zero carbon footprint approach to event production. They’ll have biodegradable trash bags, eco-friendly printing, table coverings, recycled signs, and even compostable sponsor banners. And, they are even planning on separating and sorting event waste, to make sure the least amount of refuse goes into landfills. Also, staff travel and a portion of every ticket that is purchased will be carbon offset.
The event is sponsored locally by NBC-10 and the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News.
