
- Eric Birnbaum stood chatting with a female co-worker in the parking lot outside of his Bucks County law office yesterday when a masked gunman appeared out of nowhere and fired a single shot into the back of his head. Authorities are baffled by the seemingly random, daylight shooting that occurred just after 9 a.m. yesterday.
- A wounded suspect lay writing on the ground, moaning after injuries he sustained following being shot while two Philadelphia police officers bickered in the background. A YouTube video, much of which is pitch black, sets the scene for the argument between a female sergeant and a male Highway Patrol officer. "It doesn't look good," Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said. "We're concerned about it. It's probably a misunderstanding, but we're loooking at it." - Fifteen people were charged in a house stealing scheme. The accused hunted for homes that were vacated when owners died, moved into assisted care facilities, or left for other reasons. Yesterday, District Attorney Lynne Abraham held a morning news conference where she announced their arrests.
- The annual Wildwood Boat Show & Fishing Expo for this year has fallen victim to a poor economy. A spokesman said that it would be unfair to go forward with the show this year as folks aren't spending and an unsuccessful show would leave a bad taste in the mouth of vendors.
- If you're walking around outside today you'll notice a couple things, but what you'll notice most is likely the gusts of wind reaching 60 miles per hour. A cold front from the Great Lakes is moving into the area and accompanying it are high speed winds.
