Proofreading Philly tries to capture typos, wordos, and all other kinds of grammatical mistakes that we see around the city. But we need your help! Email photos to us from your computer or your phone, and show the city that you care about good grammar.
This one's been going around the interwebs (and, um, MSNBC) all week, ever since friend-of-Phillyist Brad Maule (a.k.a. B. Love) at phillyskyline discovered the error, but we had to wait for Thursday, Proofreading Philly day, to chime in. (We did, however, mention it in yesterday's Whiz.)
It seems that SEPTA has given into that whole Sixth Borough thing (which, by the way, is SO 2005) and just decided that it didn't matter if they used the NYC skyline instead of ours on their Philly Beer Week Transpass.
Look, we give them mad props for the idea and all—drunk driving is never cool—but really? Really? Nobody working at SEPTA caught it? While we're glad that they're issuing a new pass as well as still honoring the old one... we're just less glad that the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority is so incompetent. But then, tell us something we didn't already know.
(Also, what's up with the random dash and the missing comma? Anyone? Bueller?)
Photo all over, but this one was lifted from our buddy Eric at Geekadelphia.
