Let's Talk Sendak: A gallery talk on Maurice Sendak as an illustrator of other authors. Event is at 6PM at the Rosenbach Museum and Library (2008 Delancey Place) and costs five to 10 dollars. Admission is limited; RSVP here.
Coffee Talk: Program features a 30-minute tour of the current exhibitions at the Institute of Contemporary Art (S. 36th Street and Sansom Street) led by a Penn graduate lecturer, followed by coffee with a faculty member who leads an interdisciplinary conversation about various exhibitions. Event is at 5:30PM and is free.
Kafka Imagining America: A reading by Mark Harman, who recently completed a new translation of Kafka's first novel, Amerika: The Missing Person, followed by a panel discussion with Penn professors, all at Kelly Writers House (3805 Locust Walk) at 6PM. Free
Orphic and Metamorphic: Penn professors Dolan and Tresch discuss the surprising ways in which the fields of music and science overlapped during the period surrounding the French Revolution. Event takes place at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (3260 South Street) at 5PM. Free
Stuff White People Like: Christian Lauder, author of the book and creator of the website Stuff White People Like, will discuss and sign copies of the paperback version of his best-selling book at the Penn Bookstore (3601 Walnut Street) at 7PM. Free
