An Apple Store in Center City?

Word on the street: The recently empty Brasserie Perrier restaurant located on 16th and Walnut may have a new tenant by the name of Apple. Now, you'll never miss the newest [insert: Nano, MacBook, etc.] from Steve Jobs and crew. (This Phillyist was pretty upset when she discovered a newer 17" MacBook Pro that came out two weeks after she purchased hers. And, it was cheaper!) Hopefully with a store right around the corner we can all stay on top of the latest Apple inventions.

Anyway, the news came from MacNN.com and you can read the full article here. Better yet, the architectural firm rumored to be running the project is responsible for some of the biggest Apple Stores in the word, including the flagship Ginza, SoHo, Fifth Avenue and Regent Street locations. Rumors abound that this location could be a multi-story design. We'll keep you posted on the details.

This Phillyist knows what she'll be doing on her lunch breaks now.
