What's new in Philadelphia area theaters this week.
Last Chance Harvey
Dustin Hoffman stars as a sad sack commercial jingle writer who comes to London for his daughter's wedding only to learn that her step-dad is giving her away the wedding. He runs into an equally lost Emma Thompson and the two re-ignite each other's passion for life. The movie's demographic is clearly the aging baby boomer type, but the film does have somewhat more of a mass appeal to anyone who enjoys a simple story about two people forging a connection in this mad world.

Che (Part 1 & Part 2)
This two part Ernesto "Che" Guevara bio-pic by Steven Soderbergh stars Benicio del Toro as Che. The movie runs about four hours, so if you want to waste half your day watching a movie about the life of a murderous psychopath, here's your chance.

Defiance
We are glad this movie is finally making it to Philadelphia. Be sure to read Steph Mannis's thought-provoking interview with Robert Bielski, the son of Tuvia Bielski, the leader of the Bielski Partisans, a Jewish resistance group that saved over 1,200 Jews from death at the hands of the Nazis during World War II.

My Bloody Valentine 3-D
This is a remake of the 1981 slasher film using RealD 3D technology. Full of blood and gore and bad acting, check this out especially if you have a sweet little honey who you want to be clutching your arm throughout the entire movie.
