The Wrestler
Starring Mickey Rourke as "The Ram," a pro-wrestler way past his prime, The Wrestler is at the top of all the critics' lists this season. Mickey Rourke in the title role may perhaps have appeared to be stunt casting (a washed up, has-been actor playing a washed up, has-been wrestler) but it is clear that his down and dirty rough portrayal of the character was a perfect choice (especially when it is rumored that Nicolas Cage was originally supposed to play the title role). There is a lot of gore during the wrestling matches, but if the viewer is able to endure that, the intense drama between Rourke's character, his estranged daughter, and a stripper (played by Marisa Tomei) that he befriends is what has the critics raving.

Bride Wars
Yes, this movie looks to be as bad as it sounds. It stars Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway as best friends who get sucked into a revenge war because their dream weddings are planned for the same day. Full of lame gags, stunts that neither of those women can pull off, and ridiculousness over wedding planning, this film has the potential to make less money that the actual cost of a Bridezilla's wedding.

Not Easily Broken
One of those forgettable movie titles that is so non-descript and neutral that it's impossible to tell what it is about or even remember what the title is exactly. Based on the T.D. Jakes novel of the same name, it stars Morris Chestnut and Taraji P. Henson (of recent Benjamin Button fame) as a married couple whose relationship is under duress and must find out if they are "not easily broken." Get it?

The Unborn
Hello creepy. This supernatural horror stars Gary Oldman who is tasked with spiritually advising (whatever that means) a young woman who is haunted by the spirit of her twin brother who died in the womb. Yuck.

Now What?

Mickey Rourke + Marisa Tomei + 98% Freshness rating = YES PLEASE!
The previews for The Unborn really bother me because they show her being haunted by what looks like a seven-year-old. If her brother died in the womb, wouldn't she be haunted by a fetus?
