- Fox is planning to focus on a younger set of mutants with a new film called X-Men: First Class (presumably based on the comic series of the same name, which focuses on the early adventures of the original X-Men team). The studio has tapped Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwartz to write the movie.

- Warren Ellis says, no, he hasn't been hired to write Heroes. But... man, they totally should hire him to write that show. Then it might actually be good!

- Seth Rogen is planning a comedy series for Showtime about "three twentysomethings who learn about life and love while running a pornography shop."
- BareSite allows mobile browsers to access a "bare" mobile version of any site, based on the RSS feed. Sounds like a neat idea.

- Sci Fi Wire picks the 6 Scariest Environmental Doomsday Movies.

- A featurette on the women of The Spirit. Yep, that movie still looks terrible! Also, Frank Miller is still a creepy old man.
- Universal Pictures and Gore Verbinski will remake the Korean horror film The Host.
- The BBC is doing a new version of the cult post-apocalyptic TV series Survivors, about a small group of people who have survived a devastating virus that has wiped out most of the world's population.
- The second trailer for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Redux (whew; still can't type out that whole title from memory).
- Game|Life describes a hands-on experience with Halo Wars.
- A new trailer for Castlevania Judgment.
- We're disturbed that Kraft sells something called Extra Heavy Mayonnaise, designed specifically for food service operations. We're also disturbed that CostCo sells buckets of mayonnaise so large they have to have a message on the side warning you that small children could fall in them and drown.

- Awww. Championship Gaming Series, we hardly knew ye. No, really, we were barely aware you existed.
- Due to some kind of licensing issue with Sony, you can't watch Columbia Pictures films through Netflix's NXE Instant Queue on your Xbox 360. They hope to resolve the issue soon, however.
