- Get Your War On explains what a Barack Obama presidency will really mean. Truly hilarious. We are especially amused by the part about the "special mustache." (Via)
- We still can't quite get over the conviction that this is all just some enormous joke, but apparently Ridley Scott will really be directing a film adaptation of Monopoly, and it will have "a futuristic sheen along the lines of his iconic Blade Runner." But... what?

The miniseries will all be published under the title Witchfinder.
- Joystiq was on hand for a Wrath of the Lich King launch party in San Francisco. Apparently the launch has been very hard on GameStop's credit card servers—to the extent that you might be better off paying with cash (via).
- Red Eagle Games has optioned the rights to create video games based on the late Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series, including an MMO. Apparently the studio's execs are also producing a film adaptation.
- In the right light, this story could be funny, but mostly it just scares the crap out of us: the people of the Maldives are saving up to buy a new homeland, as climate change and rising sea levels could mean their islands will disappear beneath the waves. (Via Jill)
