The best of the internet, chopped into tiny bits and grilled for your enjoyment.

- Oops! The actual shipping version of the Android OS has a rather awkward bug: Anything you type on the keyboard, in any application, is simultaneously sent to a command line shell and executed as the root user. That means if you type "reboot," the phone will reboot. D'oh! Click through for the interim solution. We expect a patch of some sort is in the works, too.

- Finally, we know the Golden Age Batman's favorite Elvis Costello song. Good choice, Golden Age Batman! And speaking of Batman, apparently there's actually a city in Turkey called Batman. And now the city is suing Christopher Nolan for using its name without permission. Um... wow. That's really dumb. But we do love the fact that there's a place called Batman, Turkey, and that you can use the phrase "Mayor of Batman City" to refer to a real actual person.

I was surprised too upon hearing of a Spielberg/Will Smith collaboration on Oldboy. I don't know who could remake such a demented, disturbing movie, but Spielberg and Smith are probably among the last people I would put on the list to do it. How could they possibly sanitize that film for American audiences and/or do it in a way that would not go far afield of their own personal styles/brand? I doubt either one of them is willing to take any extreme risks by remaining true to the original.
I think it should be totally true to the original, except that Will Smith should play the main character as if he were an older Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Well now that would be something. Would he still wear the colorful blazer?
Absolutely! Except it would be soiled and stained, of course. And the villain would turn out to be a bitter Carlton Banks.
Fantastic concept. Pitch it to Spielberg, definitely. :)
