A tall, icy glass of our favorite internet junk, just for you.

- Sad news: author Michael Crichton died Tuesday of cancer at age 66. Cinematical celebrates his work by picking seven films that were either made by him, or were based on his work. Sci Fi Wire takes a similar tack and picks his best hits and worst misses.
- You may have seen the vaguely amusing, Risky Business-style commercial for Guitar Hero: World Tour starring a bunch of famous sports stars. But we much prefer this new one starring Heidi Klum, for reasons that should become obvious very quickly.
- Check out a trailer for Joss Whedon's upcoming TV series, Dollhouse. Creepy! Why doesn't it just hurry up and get on the air already?
- The Daily Bugle briefly reported that Stephen Colbert had won the presidency in the Marvel Universe, before retracting that and revealing that while Colbert won the popular vote, Obama got the necessary votes from the electoral college.
- Mythic casting! Henry Cavill is in negotiations to star as Theseus in Tarsem Singh's War of the Gods, and Sam Worthington is in talks to play Perseus in Louis Leterrier's Clash of the Titans remake. We can't wait to see both of these movies.
- John Boorman is attached to direct a $25 million computer-animated film adaptation of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The film is in production and slated for a summer 2010 release. Wait, wait, wait—this is the Point Blank/Excalibur/Exorcist II/Tailor of Panama John Boorman? WTF?! That's going to be some Wizard of Oz! We're hoping an animated Lee Mavin will show up and mow down the wicked witch with a super soaker machine gun.

- Web Monkey lists the top ten reasons iTunes sucks. They are correct on every point. But we keep using it anyway! Sigh. Thankfully, Download Squad has found a way to make it at least a little bit better: it's a fun app that allows you to buy DRM-free mp3s on Amazon through iTunes. That's sticking it to Apple!

First, Greg Packer, who was interviewed by the New York Times about the parade celebrating the Phillies' World Series victory, is apparently the perpetual "man on the street." Second, a fire at an unmanned US nuclear facility went unnoticed for five days and caused $1 million worth of damages. Finally, David Foster Wallace always wore a headband because he hoped it would prevent his head from exploding. (That explains so much.)
