- Pretty much every website we read has something to say about the election. Threat Level on Wired says the internet had a big part in Obama's win (or maybe it was the movies). Cinematical looks back at the seven most memorable campaigners. Check out the Obama for Pizzamerica (via Sarah), and tiny Obama faces sculpted using nanolithography. Play Super Obama World. Autopia at Wired demands drive-thru voting. Cartoonists' takes on Obama's win (via). Warren Ellis congratulates America on not screwing this one up. Meanwhile, comic book writers, including Ellis, explain how comic book characters would have voted. - A potential longevity-enhancing drug has passed its final animal testing challenge. Mice given the new drug gorged on high-fat food for four months without gaining weight or developing diabetes, and ran twice as far on a treadmill as their control-group counterparts. Dude, we need that stuff RIGHT NOW. Meanwhile, mice are helping with another scientific breakthrough: "Cells taken from mice frozen 16 years ago have grown into healthy clones, raising the possibility of reproducing long-dead animals and even resurrecting extinct species."
- Gadget Lab picks the five awesomest TV and movie spaceships.
- A couple of small updates on Jerry Bruckheimer's upcoming projects, including Pirates of the Caribbean 4, The Lone Ranger, and National Treasure 3.
- The Farrelly brothers got MGM to embrace their idea of a new film version of The Three Stooges, and the studio has even already picked a release date: November 20, 2009.
- GPS-enabled underwear!
- They didn't have much new to say, but the folks at Marvel did confirm various previously announced info about their upcoming projects.
- Fans are being asked to send in their artwork depicting what they think Gort should look like in the new The Day the Earth Stood Still as part of a contest called Gort Lives. The highest-rated fan entries will be displayed at IMAX theaters as well as on a future DVD. (Via)
- A movie called It's a Wonderful Afterlife is on the way, and it's being described as My Big Fat Greek Wedding meets Shaun of the Dead. It's about a British-Asian mother whose obsession with marrying off her daughter comically leads to serial murder. Um... wow.
- We're not sure we've heard of The Devil's Tomb before, but we're interested now. It's a supernatural thriller about a team of mercenaries sent on a rescue mission in a Middle Eastern desert, who uncover a mystery that has been hidden for thousands of years. It stars Ron Perlman, Cuba Gooding, and Ray Winstone, and it's already in post-production.
- The final bunch of characters for Castlevania Judgment have been announced.
- Looks like somebody already hacked the DSi.
- Viewtiful Joe has joined the cast of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom.
- Enjoy a fantastic old Tex Avery cartoon.
- Check out this ridiculous (and, we have to admit, pretty awesome) Gene Simmons Axe Guitar peripheral, compatible with PS2 and PS3 versions of Guitar Hero and Rock Band. And speaking of Rock Band, the official site now lists Rock Band 2 for Wii as not shipping until January 5th. What's up with that?!
