Have Some Sea and Cake

Car AlarmThe last time we wrote about The Sea and Cake coming through town was June of last year. Since then, the band that's named after a misinterpretation of a title of a song by a band that's even more obscure have put together a new album called Car Alarm. We were slightly disturbed to find the album has more than Sea and Cake's traditional ten tracks, but thankfully nothing else about it is much of a departure from their previous work. It's still good old, reliable, mellow, catchy indie rock. Our favorite tracks are "Aerial," "On a Letter," and "Weekend." You can get a free download of "Aerial," as well as a number of other great Sea and Cake tracks, if you head over to the R5 Productions website and scroll down to the section about the show. Oh yeah, there's a show! Sea and Cake will be playing the First Unitarian Church with Death Vessel this Friday night. Check it out.
