- It's Election Day! Unfortunately, most of us don't get the day off, but we do get to vote. Philly.com has tons of coverage, on their blogs, and in various articles: the day is finally here; expect long lines at polling places in the area; Governor Rendell and Mayor Nutter recommend you hit the polls at midday to ease those long lines; stars of music and of sports were getting out the vote for Obama yesterday; the Committee of Seventy asked state election officials yesterday to provide an eight-day extension for voters to submit absentee ballots; and a city judge issued an order yesterday against state Rep. John Perzel, legislative candidate Matt Taubenberger, and the state Republican Party, setting stiff fines if they continue running ads about the property taxes of Taubenberger's opponent, Brendan Boyle.
- A private eye testified yesterday that Fumo hired him to snoop on Ed Rendell, a long string of political enemies, his own son, an ex-girlfriend, a former wife, and two topless dancers.
- "A Fishtown man was held for trial yesterday on assault and ethnic-intimidation charges, accused of being among a group of seven white men who beat and shouted racial insults at two black men in Old City."
- "Four days before taking the stand as the key government witness in the Fort Dix terrorism trial last month, Mahmoud Omar was smoking marijuana while living in a safe house under FBI protection, according to a motion filed yesterday by federal prosecutors in the case." Our question is... so what?
- Donald Trump has postponed construction of his $300 million Trump Tower Philadelphia project because of tightening market conditions.
