According to the Philadelphia Business Journal and our fellow tweeters, Starbucks is giving coffee away to voters—all over the country! If you get a sticker confirming that you voted, bring it. But it appears that the honor system will be in effect for those of us (like Phillyist!) who were not given a sticker.
Hungry? Krispy Kreme will be giving patriotic donuts away to the nation's voters, as they report on their web site. The star-shaped, red-white-and-blue donut will put stars in your eyes and goodness in your belly. We think it's safe to call that a bipartisan compromise. They do, however, appear to be planning on adhering more closely to the "stickered voter" eligibility criterion. Which, as we mentioned parenthetically above, may disqualify us from said donut.
But we're not done yet! We've covered breakfast, but no election day is complete without dessert. Ben & Jerry's will be giving away free scoops between 5pm and 8pm. The web site doesn't mention your sticker outright, so we're going to try to get our scoop.
Keep in mind that these offers all mention "participating locations." We're hoping that while we participate in the presidential election, they'll all participate in giving us free stuff.

Can you really AFFORD to take a chance on voting for McCain/Palin who talk nothing about what they can do for you? Look what the Republicans have done so far-lost jobs, the economy, respect for the U.S., and your retirement. Why would McCain be any different understanding YOUR needs with his 13 Houses, 7 Cars, and his wife flying around in a helicopter. Don't vote against your own best interest. Try something different!
I'm disappointed that I didn't get a button or a sticker or anything to prove I voted. How am I supposed to get my free stuff??
I didn't get anything, either. I have a feeling that checking for stickers will only complicate the crush of peeps looking for their voting prize. I'm going to try anyway!
I didn't get a sticker, which I suppose shouldn't be a surprise, seeing as it took the folks at my precinct way too long to find me on the roll call. But I guess that's the problem with having four legal names for them to find!
Sounds like the whole thing might be illegal anyway:
