- It's official: Jon Favreau will direct Iron Man 2 and executive produce The Avengers, and Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man in both films. Meanwhile, rumor has it that Christian Bale will play Dr. Strange. We like the idea, but we find it hard to believe Warner Brothers/DC Comics would let that happen. Batman in a Marvel movie? No way.
