Secret Cinema Presents: Nanook of the NorthSECRET CINEMA PRESENTS: NANOOK OF THE NORTH
Shot in 1922 by a man named Robert J. Flaherty, Nanook of the North follows an Inuit man through the activities of his daily life. The screening is part of a duo of 16mm films, the latter of which plays next week. Held at the American Philosophical Society Museum, the night opens with an exhibition, called Undaunted, about 5 explorers (including one Mr. Rittenhouse—yes, like the Square). The movie and a discussion moderated by historian of anthropology Henrika Kuklick and folklorist Brett Keyser will follow.

INDYHALL LECTURES #3: PLAYING WITH POWER
Independents Hall continues their excellent lecture series tonight. The subtitle, from classic gaming consoles to powerful creative tools, sums up the topic of the evening's discussion. Don Miller, also known as NO CARRIER, will be taking the lead. Our faithful readers may recall that we interviewed him a few months back. Miller is a Philadelphia-based programmer and "live visualist" who reprograms old video game hardware and bends it to his artistic will. His 8-bit visual style is birthed mostly from modified Nintendo Entertainment Systems and Commodore 64s, and he is a pillar of the local chiptune scene. This is sure to be an enlightening and enjoyable lecture for all! Oh, and for those of you who get your tweet on, you can follow IndyHall on Twitter by going to twitter.com/indyhall.

WORLD SERIES GAME 5: PART II
In case any of you don't know, Game 5 was suspended at a 2-2 tie in the 6th inning due to inclement weather. This was a controversial situation from the start—as we explained in detail yesterday. It seems also that Senator and presidential hopeful Barack Obama's closing argument will push the first pitch back to 8:37pm. Only ABC decided not to put the candidate's half-hour spot on their airwaves. Instead, they will make this Phillyist's baseball-indifferent girlfriend very happy by airing a new episode of her favorite show, Pushing Daisies.
WHO: You!
WHERE: Your living room or the nearest bar. Airing on FOX.
WHEN: 8:37pm
HOW MUCH: Free at either of the listed venues...
