Ah, Halloween. Costumes, pumpkins, and tons and tons of sugar. You know it, Phillyist knows it, and Carnival Cruise Lines knows it. That's why they'll be spending some time in Philadelphia this Sunday trying to break the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest piñata. The big event will be happening at the intersection of Broad Street and Washington Avenue, moved from its previously-announced Center City location on the off chance that a certain Philadelphia team might be having itself a little victory parade that same day.
The piñata promises to stand six stories high, stuffed full of 8,000 pounds of candy, and if you show up to see it (before or after it's broken), you'll get the chance to be in Carnival’s new TV commercial and enter to win one of five free 7-day Caribbean cruises. Candy plus cruise? Might be worth it to keep heading south on Broad Street after you've gotten your fill of celebratin' with the Phils.

We had a good time despite the "un-breaking" of the pinata. My kids sure liked seeing it live and it was really impressive!
