HBO PRESENTS: SUMMER HEIGHTS HIGH AT THE TROC
This Aussie comedy series is coming to a U.S. television near you, but you can catch a sneak peek at tonight's screening. Summer Heights High is a mockumentary television series in which three of the characters are played by the creator and writer, Chris Lilley. The show is no stranger to controversy—as its own network once reported.
That may have something to do with the fact that American audiences will not be watching it on ABC, but on HBO instead. We like our controversy as much as the next continent, but we have clearly demarcated zones within which we try to corral most of it.
Either way, there's nothing controversial about free Australian food and beverage, which is exactly what the Troc will providing at tonight's screening. DJ Excel will providing tunage, as well. Think of it as Movie Mondays down under!
WHO: 21+
WHERE: Upstairs at The Trocadero, 10th and Arch Streets (map)

Nitpicking from an Aussie: the ABC in Australia isn't equivalent to ABC here. It's like the BBC, but "Australian" instead of "British." In other words, it's the equivalent of PBS -- except that PBS has to grub for money from the public, which leaves little incentive for controversial programming.
Thanks for the enlightenment. Should have done due diligence. Just happy to be read by an Aussie!
I heard there was some "Can't Miss" baseball game tonight. Can you confirm or deny?
I'm guessing this is gonna set an all-time record for low attendance at the Troc.
I thought about using the game, but the fact is, if someone has to read about it in Can't Miss This! to know about the time, channel, etc., they're not that interested to begin with.
Mike more than did the Phils justice in his write-up.
Go Phillies!
