- A driver called 911 about 2:30PM yesterday after seeing someone driving an SUV the wrong way on the Roosevelt Boulevard. When police arrived, the driver of the SUV told them he had explosives in his car. A stand-off began that lasted hours, shutting down the road and snarling rush hour traffic. Police finally surrounded the man and took him away shortly after 5PM. He was highly intoxicated and had been incoherent with negotiators.
- The body of a woman was found by a golfer at 10:30AM yesterday near the 14th hole of the Juniata Golf Course.
- A 12-year-old riding in a minivan was critically wounded early yesterday when a gunman in a car shot him and two of his teenage companions in North Philadelphia.
