The best of the internet, squirted out in flavorful neon globules, just for you.

- CNN's electoral map calculator is a pretty interesting little web app. The default values show you CNN's estimate for how the race will turn out, but you can switch any state you want to either candidate and see how that swings things (via Kevin). In other election news, the Maverick family points out that John McCain is not a maverick, by any definition of the word (via Jill).
- Wow. Have you seen these new McDonald's ads, trumpeting the fact that they sell lattes and cappuccinos now? They feature people who are terribly relieved that they don't have to go to Starbucks and pretend be smart anymore; they can now go to McDonalds to get their coffee drinks and go back to admitting they're ignorant slobs. Way to embrace stupidity and offend your own customers, McDonalds! (Via Sarah)
- Ford is going to release a new system that will restrict certain aspects of a car's performance based on which key is in the ignition. This way parents can give their teens a special key that can limit the car's speed to 80, keep traction control permanently on, and limit how far up you can turn the volume on the stereo. (Via Jill)

- A political flyer for a local race in Phoenix uses the fact that one of the candidates is a fan of Halo as a smear against him. Fail! That'd totally convince us to vote for him—or at least against anyone who thought the fact that somebody likes video games is a reason to not trust him with political office.

- Zara at Shiny Shiny picks the top ten games she's looking forward to this year.
- Check out the trailer for The Uninvited, the upcoming American remake of the Korean horror film A Tale of Two Sisters. Sisters is a mighty odd, creepy, and confusing movie that screened at the Philadelphia Film Festival a few years ago. We didn't actually enjoy it that much, but watching this trailer, it seems clear the remake has boiled that film down to something even worse: a bland, formulaic movie that's just like every other J-horror remake. Blah.
