Sigourney Weaver is 59 today, but a hot chick in a mech killing a monster alien remains a timeless image in the minds of sci-fi geeks everywhere. What? You prefer her as Zuul? Either way, it's unofficially movie night, more specifically documentary night, so read on and go get some popcorn. Just don't make a mess.
CINEMATHEQUE: ELECTILE DYSFUNCTION
In an election year as dysfunctional as this one, this documentary on the 2006 State Senate race between Santorum and Casey is an important reminder for all of us of one sad but simple fact: elections are not forums for substantive debate—they are meant for repetitive talking points, petty insults, and deliberately misleading attack ads. This film has some good interviews with people who have spent a lot of time on the inside of the federal and state political machine, and is definitely worth catching. The film's directors, Joe Barber and Mary Patel, will also be there to take questions and discuss the movie.
