Philadelphia Weirdness

ghostfaceMore hauntings...

Philly is considered one of the most haunted places in the U.S. The Davy Estate in North Philadelphia is a Victorian mansion of elegance and beauty which was constructed in the 1880s. William Davy lived at the house with his wife Mary and his father William Sr. They all reported weird and eerie encounters in the house.

The estate is close to Temple University, but surprisingly, despite the handful of hauntings at the location, not much history or detail has been uncovered about the resident spooks. A young servant girl is just one of the unexplained presences in the mansion. When sighted, the ghost girl often leaves behind a scent of bayberry. The apparition never takes on full form, but instead floats eerily like a dullish light. It is believed that the spectre could have connections to the third-floor bedroom, which had a broken down door.

Another classic haunted place in Philly sits near the intersection of Almhouse Road and Highway 232, Richboro, which is only five miles north of Philly. The place is the Gallagher Gift Shop and once again, the location is said to be haunted by mystery phantoms, the most notable being ghostly children which are often heard running through the rooms and more unsettlingly, their tormented cries are often heard after dark, but no one really knows why such spirits are locked in this limbo, or who they were.
