New Art Gallery

TODTA new art venue, Area919, is set to launch its grand opening to the public on Thursday, September 25th, 6-9PM with two shows.

TODT - As If will offer a selection of works culled from 25 years of production art from the TODT Artist Collective. This show will highlight "TODT's perverse and meticulous assemblages of militaristic, technological, and everyday materials in an obsessive, and often humorous, documentation of the mechanistic and animal structures that inhabit the human body and its desires."

The second exhibition is titled Element, and it is described as an "offering of architectural elements and garden ornament dating from the 18th century to the present. This collection of objects of scale produced in stone, marble, iron, wood, and lead, has been sourced in Europe, India, China, and the United States. On display will be columns, statuary, vases, plaques, entranceways, and benches from Rajasthan to Love Park."

Area 919 is located in an old brewery in Northern Liberties at 919 N 5th Street at Poplar St. They are one of the flagship tenants in the soon to be developed Northern Liberties Design Center.
