- Speaking of Metallica, a music journalist for a Swedish paper included in his review of the band's latest album a link to a user-edited, condensed version of said album, and even suggested the edited version was better. In response, the band's representative's at Universal have threatened to cut off the paper's access not only to Metallica, but to all of the label's other releases.
- Marvel Comics is going to start putting up a couple of weekly, online-only comics to tie-in with their recent films: Iron Man: Fast Friends, about the relationship between Tony Stark and Jim Rhodes, and Incredible Hulk: The Fury Files, about Nick Fury's investigation into the Hulk. - There's an annual event in LA called the Hollywood Pitchfest, wherein aspiring screenwriters can pitch to movie and TV executives through a series of five-minute, speed-dating style meetings. The radio show Two Jacks in the Hole wanted to know if the whole thing was a scam (as apparently there are never any real execs there, the event costs an incredible $420, and none of the movies ever get made), so they sent in comedy writer Asterios Kokkinos with some hidden recording equipment, and he pitched some of the worst movie ideas of all time to see what kind of reactions he'd get. Check out the pretty hilarious audio here.

When it's all over, the winner will walk away, not just with the world record, but also with a lifetime subscription to Netflix, the inaugural "Popcorn Bowl" trophy, and $10,000 in cash. Nice!

- The full 22-character lineup for Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe has been announced. (BTW, as of this writing, the Sci Fi Wire article mistakenly says "Marvel vs. DC Universe" in the first line. Now there's a game we'd like to see!)

I tried to buy one of those camera lens mugs, but it seems to be a photoshp creation.
Sadly, you are correct; I just followed the link chain back myself and found that the mug was merely a conceptual design. But hey, maybe somebody will now be inspired to turn the design into reality!
