Recap: Birds v. Boys Round I

Last night, in case you missed it, the Eagles were topped by familiar foe Dallas. If you did miss it, shame on you. The teams combined for 54 first half points. If you didn't miss it, you'll know that six of those points were not awarded to DeSean Jackson. We all know rookies make rookie mistakes from time to time. Intentionally dropping a ball on the ground at the one-yard line is not a rookie mistake; it's a bonehead move. Lucky for him, Westbrook tumbled into the endzone on the very next play. Otherwise, he might have ended up eating a half-time knuckle sandwich from Andy Reid (assuming Andy didn't save his knuckle sandwich for himself). Nonetheless, Philadelphia entered the half up 30-24 over a very good Dallas team.

Things seemed to be going well.

Then the second half drought hit.

The offense was blanked in the third quarter and scored only seven points in the fourth quarter. You have to give it to the 'Boys, though. Their offense pulled through when it mattered most and their most important players pulled through at those same crucial moments of the game. Riding two Marion Barber second-half touchdowns, the 'Boys went on to win 41-37. What's more, Tony Romo, after looking a little skiddish in the first half, pulled it together in the second-half.

We all know T.O. will be T.O. and he will get his. The defense held him to 3 catches and 89 yards...except two of those catches were touchdowns. He had another 40+ yard bomb called back for offensive holding in the first half.

At the end of the game, Dallas was too much for our hometown Eagles. We’ll see how this story ends in week 17 at the Linc!

Only one suggestion: Tony—please leave Jessica behind. We don’t want any!
