
- "Authorities yesterday searched the Main Line home of a dentist who they believe may have been involved in dumping some of the syringes and other medical waste found on eight Jersey Shore beaches in the last two weeks."
- The Penn State football team is in trouble again. Coach Joe Paterno said last night that defensive end Maurice Evans, defensive tackle Abe Koroma, and tight end Andrew Quarless would not play tomorrow against Oregon State after they were linked to a marijuana investigation at their campus apartment Tuesday night. He also kicked reserve cornerback Willie Harriott off the team for an unrelated issue.
- Three young men zapped a 50-year-old woman with a Taser Sunday night in West Philly, stole her purse, and drove off. Police tracked them down after one of the men, dressed as a woman, cashed one of the victim's checks.
- The Inquirer takes a look at some of the new and rebuilt schools that Philadelphia area students are returning to this year, including Barry Elementary in West Philadelphia.
- Charles T. Meyers, the South Philadelphia man found guilty of third-degree murder in the shooting death of 14-year-old bicyclist Tykeem Law in that road rage incident in South Philly last summer, will be sentenced today, and is expected to receive a lengthy prison term. Meanwhile, the Inquirer describes testimony given yesterday by the friend of the teen killed for his dirt bike last summer.
- Nearly 250 North Philadelphia residents gathered together at a meeting last night to complain to state and city officials about investors who buy homes in areas zoned for single-family housing and convert them for Temple students.
- A Drexel University student was arrested Tuesday night at the Deptford Mall in South Jersey and charged with selling fake New Jersey driver's licenses to underage buyers.
- City Councilman W. Wilson Goode Jr., a Democrat, said yesterday he would introduce a bill this fall to shrink City Council from 17 to 15 members by reducing the number of at-large seats from seven to five. If the legislation passed, and voters approved, a provision guaranteeing two at-large seats for minority parties would also vanish. The city would save about $1 million a year, and probably be left with only one Republican Council position. The Republicans are obviously not pleased with this idea.

Yeah...let's hope the Dentist no longer gets the chance to practice...hate to be swimming next to the teeth he extracts!!
Of course, he is now under treatment for mental illness...isn't it funny how everyone becomes "mentally ill" when they do wrong!!
