- Jess at Apropos of Something did a comparison between John McCain and his running mate, and a couple of folks on a certain sci-fi show, and found some distressing similarities...
- Esquire picked the 20 best steaks in America, and Philly's own Pat's cheesesteak made the list! On the one hand we're rather proud, but on the other... Pat's? Really? And also, they do know that a cheesesteak isn't really a steak with cheese on it, right? (Via Ross)
- Cracked offers five tips for healthy living from Batman and the Joker. A wonderful concept, hilariously executed. And the opening montage is priceless. (Via)
- Sad news: The Brothers Bloom, writer-director Rian Johnson's follow-up to Brick, has been bumped back from October 24th to a limited release on December 19th, followed by a wide release on January 16th of 2009.

- During an appearance on a radio show, Johnny Depp responded to rumors that he would play the Riddler in the sequel to The Dark Knight by essentially saying that they're false, but that it sounds like it would be fun.
- Cinematical offers an in-depth recap of the 2008 summer movie season, while Underwire takes a look at the summer box office numbers.
- We always love Trailer Park, but the one that really caught our eye this time was Sukiyaki Western Django. It's insane Japanese director Takashi Miike's homage to Spaghetti Westerns, featuring a supporting role for Quentin Tarantino, and we can't wait to see it.

- PAX went down this past weekend, and inspired posts of various kinds all around the internet.
