- This is pretty hilarious: Denny's just started offering a new Rockstar Menu, featuring dishes created by actual rockstars when asked what they like to eat late at night. We're particularly excited about the Heart on a Plate created by Jesse Hughes from Eagles of Death Metal. (Via Filter)
- Director Mathieu Kassovitz says a troubled production and some bad editing have turned his movie Babylon A.D. into "pure violence and stupidity... like a bad episode of 24." Ouch.
- Some fun images from the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince calendar.
- A Children of the Corn remake could end up as a Sci-Fi Channel original picture starring David Anders and Kandyse McClure.
- Nintendo says core gamers will have to wait two to three more years for their titles. Sigh. You did so many things right this time around, Nintendo, but this could be a big mistake!
- Yesterday's rumor of Gearbox working on a new Halo game is at least vaguely plausible, as a source says conversations along that line have taken place, but there is no deal yet.
- We're rather pleased to hear that the producer of Street Fighter IV says it won't have console-specific characters because that kind of thing is unfair. Word!
- Your music rhythm game updates for today: the song list for Rock Band 2, ranked by difficulty for each instrument (via); Joystiq still doesn't know the identity of the mysterious new Guitar Hero peripheral, but they do know it's not a keyboard; and finally, an interview with Guitar Hero World Tour project director Brian Bright.
- We'd heard a while back that the way to get the real deals on eBay is to search for misspelled versions of the product you want. TypoBuddy makes it easier to find said items.
- Sci Fi Wire offers us ten reasons why the new HBO show True Blood won't suck.
- We already knew they had started work, but now it's official: Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens have signed on to collaborate on the two upcoming Hobbit films with director Guillermo del Toro.
- Virgin Comics announced today that it is closing its New York offices and will reorganize its operations. We're not sure what this means for the company's various comic book and movie projects, but probably nothing good. :(
- The Tetris clone Tris that's available for your iPhone via Apple's App Store won't be available anymore after today. The Tetris Company contacted Apple over copyright claims and the creator agreed to pull the game rather than fight.
- Game|Life got to play with the long-awaited Phantom Lapboard, and the verdict is, it wasn't worth the wait.
- EA and Activision Blizzard will be behind 75 percent of the games scheduled to hit store shelves in the third quarter of this year. Wow!
- How about some zombie video game videos? First we have the trailer for Left 4 Dead, and next we have a video comparing Dead Rising: Chop 'Til You Drop and Hitman: Blood Money, which is meant to show that the two-year-old PS2 game is better than the upcoming Wii game.
- Warhammer Online has at last gone gold and will be hitting store shelves on September 18th.
- Blizzard says some of the content from the Wrath of the Lich King expansion will be hitting World of Warcraft's live servers early via "a new content patch in the coming weeks."
- Neal Stephenson talks about his books, including the upcoming Anathem.

- Apparently the sequel to Rob Zombie's Halloween will not be made by Zombie, but by French filmmakers Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury.
- The latest issue of Set Magazine features four different covers, each one with a different photo of a different Watchmen cast member.
