Fresh! 2008 at Projects Gallery

Fresh at ProjectsWe're big supporters of new emerging artists and thus we're really looking forward to seeing Northern Liberties' Projects Gallery open its 2008-09 exhibition season with Fresh! 2008.

This invitational exhibition includes an impressive number of the city's emerging artists, including many recent graduates from various art programs. Selected by gallery Director Helen Meyrick because of her "immediate visceral response to their work," these artists bring sculpture, photography, painting and drawing to the show. Mayerick tells us that Fresh! is an "unique opportunity to bring together disparate artists united not by imposed thematic or material concerns, but as a chorus of individual voices heralding the vibrant, varied directions of contemporary art."

Supporting emerging artists, especially recent art graduates, often means discovering great talent at the beginning of their professional careers and we're especially excited to see works by Catherine Badger, Krista Rockwell, and Roseanne D'Andrea included in the group show.

Fresh! runs from Friday, August 29 through September 27, 2008 with a First Friday artist reception September 5th, from 6-9 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. Projects Gallery is located at 629 N 2nd St at Green Street in Northern Liberties.
