Nutter? I Don't Even Know 'er!

Nutter

  • Michael must be running out of John Street appointees to remove from posts, because now he's doing it to his own staff. Ronald Cuie, whom Michael appointed as head of the Office for the Re-Entry of Ex-Offenders, has been removed from that position and will now be a "special assistant" to the Deputy Mayor for Public Safety.
  • So much for being the good government guy who won't piss away our tax dollars on b.s. Michael is paying his own trip to the Democratic National Convention with his campaign funds, but the five staffers who are going with him are being paid for with city dollars. We're with the Inquirer on this one—Michael's screwing the pooch here.
  • And along the lines of the Democratic Convention, Michael promises that he'll campaign "all-out" for Barack Obama, despite his support for Hillary Clinton during the primaries.
  • As we mentioned yesterday, Michael and Governor Rendell met with representatives from Foxwoods Casino, the upshot of which is that Foxwoods is considering an alternative location for their casino. Maybe Michael will get his way after all.
