Wicked Jezabel, an award-winning, DC-based, all-lesbian cover band, ROCKED a small, but enthusiastic crowd at Sisters in Philly Saturday night, as part of an event called The Rock Your Boobs Bash, held to raise money to support teams walking in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day 60-Mile Breast Cancer Walk. (Sisters will have 3 representatives in the walk.) The crowd filled the dance floor as WJ showed us just why they were the Washington Area Music Association's only all-female band award winners in the WAMA's 22 years of existence in 2007. Lead vocalist Davi Anson Dross worked the crowd into a mosh pit by stepping out on the dance floor to sing. Guitarist Sandy Dumas was addictive to watch, as her body grooved to her guitar's rockin' vibes. Fellow guitarist Pauline Anson Dross let her fingers do the talking, as she laid down the Wicked licks, while Gwen Frederick's marathon drumming kept the crowd moving their bodies to the rhythms of tunes by a great range of artists from Pat Benatar to the Rolling Stones and beyond.
Check out a boatload of pictures from the event below.
