Whiz of the Web: Monday Meat Slices
The best of the internet, chopped into tiny bits and grilled for your enjoyment.

- Yesterday was the 26th anniversary of the release of the compact disc. The Listening Post at Wired celebrates by wishing for no more happy returns. (Via Jill)
- Also celebrated by Wired recently was the 10th birthday of the iMac. (Via Jill)
- Apparently Daniel Radcliffe is getting naked again—and this time it's for Harry Potter. Wha?! Also, Radcliffe revealed recently that he suffers from dyspraxia, a common neurological problem that impairs the organization of movement, and makes it difficult for him to do things like tie his shoelaces.
- Apparently Simon Pegg won't be in Inglorious Bastards after all, but he will be reuniting with Nick Frost for a film called Paul about two comic book geeks on a road trip across America.
- Cinematical found a couple of fun red-band trailers, for Death Race and Righteous Kill. (Via)
- A playable demo for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is coming to XBLM and PSN on Thursday. (Where's the Wii demo, damn it?!) In the meantime, check out a mind-blowing Force Unleashed video dump over at Joystiq.
- Joystiq also has trailers for expansions to both Everquest and Everquest II.
- Some amusing videos of cosplayer/musician "Flute Link" performing, in one case, at least, accompanied by the rather annoying Navi.
- The trailer for Godfather II.
- Oops! Amazon mistakenly listed every Rock Band 2 game, bundle, peripheral and the Rock Band Track Pack as coming out for the Nintendo 64. The error has since been fixed.
- "Music discovery service and online radio station Pandora may have to shut down, thanks to high royalty fees imposed last year by the US Copyright Royalty Board."
- Download Squad offers us 10 ways to game like it's 1989.
- A might impressive LEGO replica of the Olympic village.
- Sci Fi Wire takes a look at this fall's new crop of sci-fi shows and gives the odds of success for each.
- Check out some new images from Watchmen. And while we're talking about Watchmen, enjoy a Simpsonized version of Rorschach from Springfield Punx.
- After four weeks at the top of the box office, The Dark Knight finally slipped to second place this past weekend, with new release Tropic Thunder taking over the number one spot.
- To promote the release of Mega Man 9 in Japan, energy drinks based on the game's health refill item, the Energy Tank, will soon be available in stores.
- Check out a three-minute deleted scene from Iron Man. It's clear why it was deleted, as not much happens beyond further establishing the fact that Tony Stark is a rich playboy, but it's still pretty fun.
- Some stills from the upcoming Guy Ritchie film, RocknRolla.
- A Grand Theft Auto birthday cake is a cool idea—but for a fourth birthday?! That's just wrong.
- It's Mickey as Wolverine! Brilliant!
- The producers of the next Bond film picked Amy Winehouse to do the theme song, but then fired her when she couldn't get her act together in time. Now she plans to release the song anyway, on her own.
- Ooh, classic episodes of Doctor Who from the '60s, '70s, and '80s are now available for download at the iTunes Music Store!
- Wondering what happened at that press conference called by the fellows who claim to have found a Bigfoot corpse? Underwire has complete coverage. Apparently they failed to bring the body with them, but they did bring some blurry photos and a print-out of a DNA test.
